Scottish Fold – Cat Breeds, this Scottish Fold breed is the result of a naturally occurring genetic mutation discovered in 1961 in Tayside, Scotland. These medium-sized cats have a stocky build. Scottish Folds have the endearing habit of relaxing in strange positions, like flat on their back or laid stretched out on their stomachs. They’re a relatively active breed and love playing in between cuddles with their owners. They don’t enjoy being left alone for long periods, so they need a home with plenty of company.
The Scottish Fold is a breed of domestic cat with a natural dominant-gene mutation that affects cartilage throughout the body, causing the ears to “fold”, bending forward and down towards the front of the head, which gives the cat what is often describe as an “owl-like” appearance.
